Crisis and austerity have exposed the craziness of capitalism. Billions of euros of our money has been handed over to bailout bankers and property developers. Instead of gratitude, all we have gotten in return is unemployment and savage attacks on public services.

We used to be told that capitalism meant prosperity and democracy. Not any more. Now it means austerity for the 99% and rule by the markets. But chaos at the top has been met with resistance from below.

Everywhere, from Egypt to Greece, anger against the inequality and injustice of capitalism is exploding.. In Ireland, the Campaign Against the Household Charges has spurred new forms of struggle and everyday more and more people are joining the resistance against Austerity Ireland.
